Some Budha Pictures

I thought I would post a few old pics I found of my Pug Budha. The date stamp is actually a year off these are from 2006, this is the first year I had Budha. The last pic posted here was her first year up to camp and as you can see she it thoroughly enjoying sunning herself on the front step, (and if you look closely she has her nails all painted up : ). Now we actually have a deck and first thing in the morning the sun is so bright and hot on the deck, this is where you will always find Budha laying. She is only 6 1/2yrs old in these pictures and she fur is so shiny black, she has a lot of gray/white fur now that she is 10 1/2yrs old.

Sad News : (

A pug I knew died this morning. His name is Elmer. He was owned by the parents of a guy(Ed) who Dan and I have known a long time. He was only 12 yrs old and not in bad shape for that age, it always makes me so sad when someones pet passes! Ed's parents were devestated. Pug hugs to them and Godspeed to the rainbow bridge Elmer xxoo.

Craziness

Holy Cow, we had snow yesterday, what is that all about??? We had 80s in the beginning of April and now it's almost May and we got snow, it's not right lol!

I didn't end up having time to post that second page last night as I decided to add a few finishing touches to it and wanted to do some journaling as well, so tonight maybe : ). My evenings seem to just fly by sometimes. Ended up going to Petco last night to pick out a dog food for my oldest pug. Those of you who know me know I feed only raw human food to my pugs. Well the vet has convinced me(and believe me it wasn't easy and I'm still not 100% sold on the idea) that it will be much easier for her to lose weight this way as it's hard to count calories when you don't know how much each food contains. So I went with the Wellness Weight Management. Mainly because I trust them they had no foods in the recalls back years ago, they use good ingredients and it was super low fat so she can still get treats everyday. The best part was that Budha had a total blast going with me she's like a kid in a candy store with all the smells and stuff she was just too cute and such a good girl!!

Dan and I are meeting with a painter tonight to select the colors for painting the outside of the camp and the new deck. This should be fun! And I can't wait for it to be done and see the final results, will let you know tomorrow what we picked.
Will be back later tonight to post that layout and maybe some others.

I love you Layout

Here is a layout I did of my son. This was taken before the semi formal dance that he went to last year. I will be back tomorrow with details on the layout but I'm exhausted tonight so off to snuggle with the pugs a little before I go to bed.
Okay so I started with this really pretty paper from Prima, I used the letter stamps that are are also Prima to emboss the LOVE at the top in black. I took some black acrylic paint and made the hearts and the U. I used a fatter brush to create a frame with black paint and then a little white over it. Then added a couple flowers to dress it up a bit. It was a real simple layout but I wanted one that was bold and fun, something that captured my son's personality. Normally I wouldn't choose "pink" for a boy page but the color being bright like his personality and the color also going with my title it just kinda fit for me. Hopefully I will have time tonight to post the 2nd layout that goes with this one the paint was still a little wet last night.

Here is a close up of one of the flowers, not sure if you can see the texture, again my photographing of my work is not the greatest yet. I took a pink Prima Flower and added a little black paint and then on top of that I have a container of this stuff it's suppose to be fake snow. Being that it was white I thought it would look really cool on the top of these flowers to give it a little bit of texture. Then I took a couple silver buttons and added them to make the centers of the flowers.

Here is a close up of the Embossed Title

My Pugs

Here are my precious pugs, Budha in Blue, Pebbles in Pink and Peaches in Yellow.

Happy Monday

Had a nice weekend, after the crazy hectic week last week. Went to breakfast with Dan yesterday @ Panara Bread. Spent a lot of time outside Saturday with the pugs since it was so beautiful. Dan got the beneficial nematodes spread in the yard yesterday and finished just before it started to rain, YEAH!

I have been working on a few layouts this weekend and will try to get them posted tonight. I'm not having the best luck photographing my work so that you can really see all the details on the page so if anyone has any tips for me, ie: lighting, background etc. please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Went to Michael's this weekend and was so surprised that they had gotten in a new stash of Prima Flowers, so I picked up a few of those and you will see some of them in the layouts I've been working on. Check back this evening for some pics of the layouts, in the mean time I leave you with a pic of my 3 baby girl pugs : )

Here you can see the dimension that the stickles add to the layout.

Page Layout Contest From We B Scrappin

Here is a layout I submitted for a page layout contest that I did a couple months ago for a local store We B Scrappin. And I was the lucky winner of an awesome prize pack that month!
I started with a piece of cream color card stock from Close to my Heart (I believe they call it Vanilla Cream) I distressed the edges of it with Rangers Vintage Photo (which I use a lot and is my favorite distress ink color) and the broken china. Then I spritzed the whole page with my mini mister that I added the gold perfect pearls to to give it a shimmer look and that also turned my distressing into a water color look on the edges. I then selected my paper which was a Prima paper that I had just bought, cut that and then used a Fiskars paper edger to do the bottom edge of the Prima paper. I cut the 3 smaller photos all the same size 2 x3 and the larger one is 4x5.
I cut a piece of the same color card stock for the title and used a template I had to draw lines on it for journaling. The title I cut out with a spellbinders nestibilities die. I also distressed the edges of that stamped the title then spritzed with just water to get the water color effect again. I distressed the edges of the journaling block as well with the vintage photo. The butterfly is from a Close to my Heart Stamp set that was actually a stamp of the month set awhile back. I embossed it with gold embossing powder on the same Prima paper I used for my background. I added some lace to the top and then put all the pieces together and glued them on. I used my Versamark to stamp some butterflies on the bottom and dusted with the perfect pearls. Finally I used the tarnished brass distress stickles on the bottom corners and the whole top edge to give it a little more glimmer and more dimension.

Welcome - about me

Hello everyone, well this is the first time I've ever had a blog so bear with me as I get used to it and how everything works. A little about me, I am 37, Mom to one son, Elias who is 16 yrs old and is my heart and sole. I have been with the same man for almost 11 years, Dan, who I just adore and love with all my heart. And I am owned by my 3 girly girl pugs. I have been scrapbooking for a little over 8 years now. My style has greatly changed from the first time I scrapbooked and I think I have developed my own style. I first started scrapbooking with Creative Memories which is very plain and the only embellishments they used to have back then were stickers, OMG. : ). Stick around to see how my style has developed, and see some of my layouts from way back when as well as my newest layouts and projects.
